Founded in 2019, "Fixers in Maldives " was established to provide comprehensive local services and facilities for film production and we are a strategic collaboration between two seasoned international working production companies : FTV Productions Algarve Lda and local registered Film Production Fixers LLP.
We both specialize in supporting international film production and broadcast companies while executing their projects abroad.

Location scouting and Preproduction

We strive to do an extensive location scout every 2 months in order to keep our location database up to date, as locations change fast. In case you might be interested in some specific locations you are looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'd be happy to include this in our first scouting. For free of course!

Line Production

Our local crew in the Maldives focus exclusively on Thailand, Therefor they know the whole region like no other and have meanwhile built an unique position and a good reputation as a local film production service company , not only among the many international film producers but also among the local governments and authorities.

Accomodation & Transport

An important part of our work is accommodation, logistic and transportation. The accommodations in our database are budget dependent and very varied; from a simple accommodation, a safari yacht to a luxury resort. Transportation is mostly by boat or water plane.

Travel to the Maldives typically involves connecting flights through Sri Lanka or various Middle Eastern destinations. Alternatively, charter flights to the capital city of Male are commonly available. Approximately 30% of the Maldives' 360,000 residents live in Male. Recent productions filmed in the Maldives include the South African version of Survivor.
The Maldives gained significant global recognition when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story filmed its climactic battle scenes on the islands, showcasing the location's unique beauty. With its year-round tropical climate, the Maldives remains one of the most sought-after tropical destinations. The average temperature hovers around 30°C, with fluctuations between 23°C and 32°C.
Regarding entry requirements, filming equipment can be imported without tax for up to 30 days. If extended use is required, filmmakers can apply for a special extension, which can last up to two years, by paying a 5% customs tax.

The Maldives is one of the world’s most beautiful tropical destinations with fine weather throughout the year. It has a year-round hot tropical climate with an average temperature of 30 throughout the year although temperatures can fluctuate between 25 and 32 degrees celsius.
The dry season will be between December and April, within the monsoon seasons.
